Inventaire et prisée des livres de feu monseigneur de Chavigny trouvés dans son cabinet [manuscript], Paris, 1652.

Manuscript inventory with prices of the printed books in the library of Léon Bouthillier, comte de Chavigny (1608-1652), French minister of state, drawn up by Antoine Bertier and Simeon Piget, Parisian booksellers, on 16 Dec. 1652. The collection is priced 5,523 livres and at the end there is the attestation of the booksellers along with the following signatures: Phelipeaux, Bouthillier, Martinet, and Richer. The descriptions of the books are brief but clear. Holdings include atlases; ancient and modern histories; regional histories; Bibles; ecclesiastical works; commentaries; two editions by Bodin; the works of Erasmus; science and natural history, including Dioscorides, Gesner, Vesalius, and five volumes of Kepler, Agricola, and Tycho Brahe; and newspapers and literature. The booksellers who prepared the inventory have also noted distinctive aspects of the library: those books in folio of the Imprimerie Royale, books bound in morocco, and suites of engravings. Guigard cites an inventory of manuscripts of Bouthillier and refers to Baron Pichon regarding the armorial binding stamp of Léon de Bouthillier; however, he does not mention the present inventory, which appears to be unpublished.
